Aroma Rice Cooker/Steamer - Review and Giveaway - US only ends September 2, 2012

Go to Aroma Home Page

Aroma has been around for quite a while now. They offer everything from Rice Cookers, Steamers, Deep Fryers, Ice Cream Makers to Pressure Cookers and much more. They make quality products at affordable prices.

I love rice and always tend to find myself cooking a dish that somehow involves that wonderful grain; whether it be rice inside the dish or as a side dish. When I was given the chance to review an Aroma Rice Cooker, I couldn't have been more happy.  I love the taste and quality of restaurant rice and was looking forward to producing the same results from home.

I have a family of 5 and felt the 2-8 cup Rice Cooker would be the perfect size. The Aroma Rice Cooker and Food Steamer comes with a steamer tray, measuring cup, and a serving spatula. The steamer tray is good for steaming vegetables or meats while the rice cooks in the non-stick pot at the bottom. The spatula is great for stirring and serving. There are many features of the rice cooker that I love and are beneficial to achieving the perfect meal each and every time. If you work outside of the home, you can set the timer, in one hour increments up to 15 hours, to be ready by the time you get home. Once the cooking is done, the rice cooker automatically sets to warm until you're ready to eat. With one push of a button, you are guaranteed to have the perfect rice ready in a matter of minutes.  The amount of rice you intend to cook will make a difference in the amount of time it takes to cook. The 6 buttons you see below are the Delay Timer - good to use if you're going to be gone for a few hours; to the right of that is the power button; below that is the Brown Rice button; to the left of that is the White Rice button; below that is the Steam button and to the right of that is the Keep Warm button. Each light up accordingly.

There is a removable piece in the back; this is where the condensation is released.

An instructional booklet comes with the Aroma Rice Cooker; there you will find everything you need to know in order to operate your rice cooker. You will also find some recipes; I'm a huge fan of Jambalaya so I decided to try out their version. I included everything except the shrimp, not a huge fan, and I added some diced tomatoes...yum! Here is the finished result:

The Aroma Rice Cooker isn't just for rice, veggies, and meat; it's also great to use for soups and stews.  I can't wait to make more dishes using my new rice cooker. I'm very impressed with the quality, which is something to be expected from Aroma. The clean-up was so easy since the pot is non-stick; that's what I'm talking about!

So, are you ready to make fast and healthy meals that are ready when you are?

HOW TO CONNECT:  You can connect with Aroma Housewares on Facebook and Twitter.

WHERE TO BUY:  Head on over to their website HERE to purchase your own rice cooker.

OR

That's right! One lucky reader from the US is going to win an Aroma Rice Cooker! Giveaway will end on September 2, 2012.  Good luck to all!

I love using steamers for everything! I use brown rice most of the time, so it takes a bit longer to steam, but it's well-worth it. I'm guessing this would work for quinoa, right? I've been using that in place of rice a lot lately. I love that it's a non-stick lining - definitely makes for easy cleanup! Believe it or not, I've not heard of Aroma so I'm going to go to their website and check out all their products!

Ive always wanted a steamer, it would save me so much money. I usually buy the frozen brown rice from Costco that you microwave for three minutes. It would be nice to have a steamer to make larger batches at a time...

I have always wanted a rice cooker. This sounds like it would be a great addition to my kitchen!

I eat cream of rice or grits for breakfast and seemingly rice every night. From Risotto to Jasmine to Brown Rice, I've made rice in pots, pans, and slow cookers, but never made any of it in a Rice Cooker. Wonder what I am missing but you know how it is, money is also so tight. Even if I don't win, it's one of those maybe one day things, I intend to try one day.

My current rice cooker is very old and I would love to replace it with this Aroma rice cooker since we eat rice in our household almost everyday!

I've always wanted a rice cooker. I like to cook stir fried rice with tons of veggies, rice based casseroles, and make a home made rice pudding for Hubz' lunches. So easy to carry and reheat for lunch, but something of a pain making the rice. A rice cooker would be a wonderful thing to have.

I actually already have a rice cooker, at least that's what they call it. It doesn't do a very good job though. I just made some rice this pas week and it was horribly overcooked, I had to throw it out it was so bad. I'll give it another chance or two, but it might be going away soon if it doesn't shape up!
