Fake Bake Airbrush Instant Self-Tan Review and Giveaway! US/CAN ends October 7, 2012

I'm about as pale as they come so when I was given the opportunity to review Fake Bake, I was a little too excited! I have tried many, and I do mean many, self-tanning products on the market and have been disappointed with each and every one of them. I've tried drugstore all the way to higher end and I find little difference in the lower end vs. the higher end...that is until I discovered Fake Bake.

The particular product I chose to review was the Airbrush Instant Self-Tan. I wanted something that would be quick, easy to apply and have a super fast drying time. I'm so impatient when it comes to waiting that I end up staining my clothes. I like the idea of a spray tan but I refuse to go to a tanning salon to get one professionally done. I was afraid that using one, at home, was going to be difficult but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to apply. Make sure you shake the contents before applying. As with all self-tanners, it is important that you exfoliate the skin before applying. This helps to remove all of the dead skin cells which helps to achieve an all over, even tan. I apply lotion to my dry areas, such as the elbows, knees, and ankles; trust me, this does make a difference. Per the instructions, on the back of the can, apply in a well ventilated area. I sprayed in the shower and about chocked. For me, there is just no other place for me to apply this product. It would certainly be best if you could actually apply this product while outside..but most of us can't do that. You should spray at least 8 inches from your skin. Any closer and you end up with darker spots and that certainly isn't cute! Upon spraying, a very fine mist emerges and lands evenly on your skin. It applies dark and is recommended that you leave it on for 4-6 hours. I applied at night and wash off the next day. Once you wash it off, it's no where near as dark.

I do have one complaint; I would suggest that each time you use this product, make sure to run some warm water over the nozzle. I didn't do this the second time using it and ended up with several ultra dark spots (looked like huge freckles from a distance) due to the nozzle being a little clogged. I don't know if this is the norm or if I just received a defective nozzle. Either way, I would suggest doing that when you're ready for your next application.

I did not apply to my whole arm, just part of it (on the right side)

I didn't notice any streaking and the color was definitely NOT orange. I couldn't have been more happy with the fact that I actually looked bronzed and not orange. The smell isn't quite as bad as other self-tanners but it does still have that tanning smell. After showering, the smell is almost completely gone. I would definitely suggest applying at night and showering in the morning. The drying time as about 5 minutes..no stains on my clothes either!

All in all, I would give the Fake Bake Airbrush Instant Self-Tan an 8 out of 10 stars. Not bad!
