Texas Heat
For those of us that have the pleasure of living in Texas....gotta love this! (lol)
Dear Diary: June 1st:
Just moved to Texas! Now this is a state that knows how to live!! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! It is beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.
June 14th:
Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in an Air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper.
June 30th:
Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing the lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here.
July 10th:
The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least, it's kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.
July 15th:
Fell asleep by the community pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body). Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ole sun in a climate like this.
July 20th:
I missed Lomita (my cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car at noon, Lomita had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag, then popped like a water balloon. The car now smells like Kibbles and ****s. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat. Good ole Mr. Sun strikes again.
July 25th:
The wind sucks. It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!! And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the AC repairman charged $200 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.
July 30th:
Been sleeping outside on the patio for 3 nights now, $225,000 house and I can't even go inside. Lomita is the lucky one. Why did I ever come here?
Aug. 4th:
It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $500 and gets the temperature down to 85. I hate this stupid state.
Aug. 8th:
If another wise a** cracks, 'Hot enough for you today?' I'm going to strangle him. Damn heat. By the time I get to work, the radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!!
Aug. 9th:
Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and when sat on the seats in the car, I thought my ass was on fire. My skin melted to the seat. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass . . . Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and baked cat.
Aug 10th:
The weather report might as well be a da*n recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do **** for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this damn state? Water rationing will be next, so my $1700 worth of cactus will just dry up and blow over. Even the cactus can't live in this damn heat.
Aug. 14th:
Welcome to HELL! Temperature got to 115 today. Cactus are dead. Forgot to crack the window and blew the damn windshield out of the car. The installer came to fix it and guess what he asked me??? "Hot enough for you today?" My sister had to spend $1,500 to bail me out of jail. Freaking Texas. What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here?? Will write later to let you know how the trial goes.

I Need More Crock Pot Days
Do any of you just have those days where you just don't want to cook and when your family is starving, they all look at you expecting a delicious meal in less than 5 minutes? Yes, that happens to me like ummm every single day. So I have decided that I will get out the lovely (hardly used) crock pot and actually use it! While I don't have any crock pot recipes, at the moment, I did a little searching on the internet and found out about Crock Pot Girls on facebook. Wow, with over 1,000,000 fans, they must be doing something right! You can check them out on facebook or their website. They have tons of recipes so you are sure to find something you and your family will love. I can't wait to try out some of the recipes. I'll keep you posted as to how it all turns out! Have a fabulous day everyone!!

Men Do Cry
A beautiful poem
I heard quite often “men don’t cry” Though no one ever told me why So when I fell and skinned a knee No one came to comfort me.And when some bully boy at schoolWould pull a prank so mean and cruelI’d quickly learn to turn and quip
“It doesn’t hurt”, and bite my lip.
So as I grew to reasoned years I learned to stifle any tears. Though “be a big boy” it began, Quite soon I learned to ” be a man”. And I could play that stoic role While storm and tempest wracked my soul No pain or setback could there be
Could wrest one single tear from me.
Then one long night I stood nearby And helplessly watched my son die, And quickly found to my surprise That all that tearless talk was lies. And still I cry and have no shame I cannot play that ” big boy” game, And openly without remorse
I let my sorrow take it’s course.
So those of you who can’t abide A man you’ve seen whose often cried, Reach out to him with all your heart
As one whose life’s been torn apart.
For men do cry when they can see Their loss of immorality. And tears will come in endless streams
When mindless fate destroys their dreams.

Why Do Women Cry?
For those that have never read this before, it's a must read. I'm one that cries for just about anything. I'm such an emotional person and I have always thought about that as being a sign of weakness....which, of course, it isn't. After reading this, it just filled my heart with joy and pride (and, of course, my eyes with tears). You can find it here http://www.turnbacktogod.com/.
“Why are you crying?”, a young boy asked his Mom.
“Because I’m a woman,” she told him. “I don’t understand,” he said.
His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will, but that’s O.K.”… Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?”. “All women cry for no reason,” was all his Dad could say… The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked “God, why do women cry so easily?”
GOD answered…
When I made woman, I decided she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet, made her arms gentle enough to give comfort…I gave her the inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times will come even from her own children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going and take care of her family and friends, even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without complaining…I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly…
She has the very special power to make a child’s boo-boo feel better and to quell a teenager’s anxieties and fears…I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults and I fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart…I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
For all of this hard work, I also gave her a tear to shed. It is hers to use whenever needed and it is her only weakness.
When you see her cry, tell her how much you love her, and all she does for everyone, and even though she may still cry, you will have made her heart feel good.

The New Sedu ICON Prive Dryer
Ok, I'm ALOST at a lost for words here....$700???? I will say that I have their straightener and it is a fantastic straightener (I actually won it thanks to Sedu) and I'm sure their blow dryers are awesome too, BUT with that price tag...I just don't see many of us "average shoppers" being able to afford this. On their facebook page, Sedu asks how much would you pay for it...hmmm NOT $700 that's for sure.

Have Yourself A Good Laugh
Cute #1
As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladdin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with 7 men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac Man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies. The fault is not mine!
Cute #2 --- SO FUNNY!
In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed to stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods:
On a Sears hairdryer -- Do not use while sleeping.
(Shoot, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)
On a bag of Fritos -- You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special)?
On a bar of Dial soap -- "Directions: Use like regular soap,"
(and that would be how???....)
On some Swanson frozen dinners -- "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's "just" a suggestion).
On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom) -- "Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh)!
On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding -- "Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)
On packaging for a Rowena iron -- "Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me more time)?
On Boot's Children Cough Medicine -- "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5-year-olds with head-colds off those forklifts.)
On Nytol Sleep Aid -- "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(and...I'm taking this because???....)
On most brands of Christmas lights -- "For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to...what)?
On a Japanese food processor -- "Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious)
On Sainsbury's peanuts -- "Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)
On an American Airlines packet of nuts -- "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."(Step 3: maybe, ooh...fly Delta?)
On a child's Superman costume -- "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)
On a Swedish chainsaw -- "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."(Oh my ..was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

Thank You To My New Followers
I just want to say thank you to my new followers! I will have some reviews coming up, in the near future, that I'm extremely excited about! I can hardly wait for you guys to read about these companies....so thrilled. These companies make some of the most beautiful pieces I have ever laid my eyes on...seriously. So stay tuned and I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed weekend :)
"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say: Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well." (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.)

Today Was A Good Day!
UPDATE: My daughter went to school today and when I picked her up, she was all smiles! She said that the girls did not bother her at all. She even talked to her teacher about it. I'm so happy for her. I know that this doesn't mean it's over...but all she (we) can do is take it day by day. If it does happen again, I will be going up to the school and handling it my way. It feels so good to see my baby smile since all she did was mop around and cry. The way I look at it, these girls must have low self esteem or even worse. Sometimes we forget what these kids might be going through at home. Their home life could be so traumatic day in and day out that their only way to cope with it is take it out on other kids. I sympathize, with these kids, to a certain level. Anywho, I'm just so happy that she is happy! Thank you, wonderful followers, for your kind words. They will be truly appreciated and remembered for years to come :)

I'm here with my daughter, on this chilly morning, and I'm really not sure how to handle what is going on. My daughter is being bullied at school and she is so distraught over it, that I decided to let her stay home for the day. See, she has a problem with these two girls in her class. They constantly make fun of her last name and are just down right mean to her. I knew once my baby girl entered middle school that the innocence of her elementary school days would soon be a thing of the past. I don't know what to tell her or what to even do at this point. She is not the type of girl to stand up for herself, although I wish she were. She tries not to let these girls get to her, but it's just not working. I'm thinking of calling the school and speaking to the principal about this matter. I just don't want it to make things worse for her... I guess I'm just kinda lost right now. I absolutely hate to see my kids hurt.. if only I could take her pain away :(

Oh My Goodness!
I am one to say that I love eyeshadow! I love to play around with different colors, colors that emphasize my green eyes. When visiting the Sephora website, I came across this Mitzah Panther Eyeshadow - Jungle Print from Dior. Cute, yea...would I wear it...probably not. As I'm scrolling down to the end of the description, I notice the price....$90!!!!!!! WHAAAA???!!!! $90 for eyeshadow? I'm having a really hard time understanding why this eyeshadow would cost $90. If I were to spend that kind of money, it would be on a gorgeous handbag. I certainly would not spend it on eyeshadow. Am I alone in thinking that price tag is ridiculous? Now that I have picked my jaw up from the floor, I'll close this post with a OMGoodness.

Experience is what you get when you don't stop trying.
I really need to work on this. I'm so bad about just giving up when things start to get a little hard. Life isn't always easy, we all go through some things....and what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger :) Sheesh, I really need to start changing my way of thinking. Baby steps!
