L'Oreal Paris Magic BB Cream 810 Fair - Review
When it comes to BB creams, there are more and more out there to chose from. Honestly, I've never really had the desire to try them due to the FACT that I have VERY oily skin. I can wear mineral makeup well but liquid/cream foundations - not so well. I was given the opportunity to try out L'Oreal magic BB Cream in 810 Fair. As with any product, I'm very skeptical as to how well it will hold up next to my oily skin.
What you first notice is that this cream comes out as white but as you will find, it melts into your face to give you the perfect shade while magically transforming your face into a beautiful, smooth surface to work with. I have such a hard time when finding foundation colors that will work with my skin tone. They end up being noticeably dark and I end up tossing in the trash. The lightest color available (810 Fair) was a perfect match for me. This product is right up there with other tinted moisturizers with the exception of having a few special agents to make it stand out from all the rest. L'Oreal Magic BB Cream primes to smooth skin's texture while perfecting to hide imperfections. It also hydrates for all day moisture while correcting your skin for a healthy looking even complexion.
I was impressed with how even my skin tone was. The coverage was great and my skin truly did feel hydrated throughout the day. My face did become oily, as expected, but I did notice it wasn't as bad as with other liquid/cream foundations I've used. If you're an oily girl like myself, this really is a good product but don't expect to go throughout the day without having to blot and/or reapply.
Would I purchase this product once I've used it up? I absolutely will! All you can do is give it a try for yourself. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another but it sure doesn't hurt to give it shot as I was truly impressed!

Best iPhone Photo Apps/Accessories & Ways to Share with Family and Friends
One of the greatest benefits of an iPhone is its advanced photo and video capabilities. The resolutions have improved dramatically, creating photos that are of far superior quality than earlier cell phone cameras. The ability to be creative with the iPhone camera has also increased the availability of a number of different photo apps and accessories.
Photo Apps:
These apps permit the photographer to create all different effects at the time of the photo and have them right on the phone and not in a program. There are also apps that allow instant photo sharing. Here is a list of some of the many great photo apps available for the iPhone.
- Camera+ - This is an editing app that has been upgraded several times. Special effects like back lit, portrait, simulated flash and sunset can be applied. Filters are available by taking your original pic and placing it in a grid to play with each effect before downloading or sending.
- Gridditor – This is an editing app that places your unfiltered original in the center of a grid of four out of 22 filters. This is a really great app to help show the transition of your image when using a filter.
- Photo Toaster – This app has been popular for a while but has been upgraded. You can get countless special effects by using an onscreen slider. Special effects like black and white, retro and many others are available. This app gives enough control to get your pictures to look exactly how you want them.
- Kit Cam – This app is unique as it offers 30 different films, 13 lenses and 18 different frames to customize your pictures in virtually limitless varieties. You can do a two finger rotation of some lenses for more effects and even use them with video.
- Old Booth – Turn your pictures into vintage sepia and even make your subject wear a different hairdo from a different era. This is a fun app that allows you to create new looks and frames in old fashioned styles.
- Tiltshift – This app uses an old technology and applies it to digital iPhone pictures. With Tiltshift you can focus on a small area of the photo while blurring the rest, creating a look much like a vintage film, zoom lens, close up.
- Comic Touch – This is a really fun app that places cartoon speech blurbs into your photos. Now your pets can have something to say!
Photo Accessories:
Here is a list of some great iPhone photo accessories that enable you to take interesting photos and also some ways to display your beautiful images.
- Olloclip – Olloclip is a wonderful little lens that slips over the corner of your iPhone. It comes with three different lens – macro, wide angle and fisheye. Now you can create some unique, crazy photos all on your iPhone.
- Photo iPhone Cases – Tiny Prints, an online photo printing site, allows you to take your beautifully crafted photos and place them on a custom case. Use them for your own case or give them out as gifts!
- GripTight GorillaPod Stand – The GorillaPod is a super flexible tripod that helps to secure your phone almost anywhere to take that perfect self-portrait and is great for steady photo shooting.
There is a whole world of photo apps out there and most can be downloaded for less than a few dollars from he App Store. Whatever limitations you feel you have when taking pictures with your iPhone, like shooting night shots or panoramas; there is an app to help you. All you need to do is explore to find the perfect app or accessory for you.

HBL Shine and Seal Hair Care System Review and Upcoming Giveaway
After reading the story behind HBL hair products I thought to myself, wow, what a wonderful company with such dedication. Patrick, the founder of HBL (Health, Beauty and Life), developed these products after several close family members where diagnosed with cancer. Realizing that most skin and hair products contained harmful ingredients, Patrick set out to come up with new formulas that were created with the highest quality surfactants (cleansing agents), virtually allergen-free fragrance and a stable pH – a highly important line of defense in keeping your body healthy.
I was given the opportunity to review HBL's Shine & Seal Hair Care System. I believe my hair to be healthy as I've spent countless hours and years finding what works for me and what doesn't. I find trying out new products to be exciting and challenging at the same time since what works for one might not work for another. I've seen many reviews and was excited to try out this line I wasn't familiar with.
I'd like to start off by talking about the Hydrating Shampoo. One thing about my hair is that it's picky when it comes to shampoo and conditioner. The texture of my hair is frizzy, slightly wavy and thin; my hair is pretty close to waist length. Though I haven't, in a while, I do color my hair often so it tends to be on the dry side when I do. The consistency of the shampoo is somewhat runny but not too runny. The smell is fresh and clean and left my hair feeling squeaky clean and I could actually run my hands through my hair. It lathers nicely and a little bit sure does go a long way!
After shampooing, I used the Hydrating Conditioner. What I found to be wonderful about the conditioner was that it has a nice thick consistency, almost like a really thick foot cream. The smell kind of reminded me of lotion; the smell doesn't linger long so if you're not fond of the smell of plain ol' lotion, no need to worry. I added the conditioner to the ends of my hair and was very impressed at how well it coated my strands; again, a little goes a long way.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Shine & Seal. I simply adore this product. I very much love a good hair serum that DOESN'T weigh my hair down. I really don't have a lot of luck when finding a good serum as they tend to be too heavy for my thin strands. I used a VERY SMALL amount of the Shine & Seal and was impressed with the results. It wasn't too heavy and gave my strands a nice, healthy feeling and a very nice shine. I must say, with any serum, a little truly does go a long way.
So what are my thoughts? I am very excited to say that I have a new line of hair care that I will stick with as long as they make it. I am one that likes to rotate my shampoos and conditioners so I will most definitely be adding the Shine & Seal Hair Care line to my rotation. I appreciate the time that was taken in developing these products; to know that I'm using healthy and safe ingredients on my hair and scalp. That in itself is a huge plus! So go on, give it a try and see for yourself.
You can find this system, which retails $62.90, along with other HBL products HERE
