Sibu Beauty Review and Giveaway - US/CAN ends August 29, 2012!

ABOUT US

(from their website)

The journey to create a successful company can be as arduous as scaling a Tibetan mountainside, but well worth the view from the top. Bruce McMullin founded Sibu in 2003 after series of events led him to Calcutta, India where he crossed paths with an ayurvedic specialist in Chinese plants and herbs. In passing, this expert mentioned a powerful holy fruit, the Sea Buckthorn berry.

From there McMullin's quest took him to new heights, figuratively and literally, as he journeyed to some of the most remote locations of the Himalayas to find the superior source of Sea Buckthorn that is the foundation for all Sibu products.

In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, Bruce has a thirteen-year history of philanthropic efforts worldwide serving as executive chairman of Choice Humanitarian.

It's been about the last 3 or 4 years that I have really given my full attention to taking care of my skin.  There are so many skin care companies out there that you basically have to pick and choose and hope one works for you.  I was given the opportunity to review Sibu Beauty and I'm so excited to be able to tell you about this line and what it has done for my skin. I will be telling you a little bit about each of the 5 products you see to the left.  Each one of these products provides a unique experience that has contributed to my skin looking and feeling wonderful!  Each of these products have a wonderful, orange-ish scent.

*Please keep in mind that we all have different skin types and textures and what works for some of us, doesn't work for us all.

We all know that as we age, we must start taking better care of our skin or we pay the ultimate price of looking far older than what we really are. The first of the products I'd like to talk about is the Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser. As you can see from the picture (please click to enlarge) you will see tiny, gentle granules within the cleanser. This provided me with maximum cleansing and a tiny bit of exfoliation. As with all beauty products, I use an oil based makeup remover to get rid of hard to remove mascara. I found that this Balancing Facial Cleanser removed my makeup well (other than the mascara) but please note that this product doesn't claim to remove makeup, in the first place. After I have thoroughly cleansed my face I do not feel any kind of tightness; all I feel is soft, supple, glowing skin. I have used many wonderful cleansers in my life and I have to add the Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser to the top of that list! This product retails for $17.95.

After I gently dried my face, I used the Sea Buckthorn Purifying Mask (for all skin types). This mask has a triple enzyme formula to purify and refresh tired skin.  The Sea Buckthorn Purifying Mask helps to slough off dead skin cells evenly.  Use it to remove old, dull skin which will reveal a more rejuvenated appearance to the skin. My skin looked so alive and had actual color coming to the surface! I had a really hard time not constantly touching my face. It felt so soft; unfortunately, no words can explain how soft my skin was!  All you do is apply a thin layer to your face and leave it on for 3-10 minutes; I left it on for the full 10 minutes for  maximum benefits. This product retails for $29.95.

All the above were used in the morning.  After using the purifying mask, I then applied the Sea Buckthorn Hydrating Serum.  This serum is light and has almost a slight, sticky-type feeling when applying. I dries rather quickly so you must apply and rub it in quickly. Although it felt sticky upon application, once the serum dried, I couldn't even tell I had any moisturizer on my face; it felt so hydrated and super soft. This serum is so light and does not cause my oily skin to become oilier.  I apply this before I apply an makeup primer...or even makeup.  Let it absorb before applying anything else.  The Sea Buckthorn Hydrating Serum is the perfect moisturizer for day time. This serum promotes youthful tone and texture and fights age without damaging chemicals. It also brightens your complexion while evening out your skin tone.  I felt this serum did all it stated it would do. I haven't noticed a diminishing of fine lines but, in all fairness, I have only been using it about 3 weeks now. This product retails for $39.95.

At nighttime, once a week for 2 weeks, I used the Sea Buckthorn Exfoliating Scrub. The directions do not state to do this but, I wet my face before using the scrub. If you have sensitive skin, you should really consider making sure your face is wet before scrubbing--GENTLY. Always scrub gently when using any exfoliating scrub.  Gently massage in a circular motion for about one minute; rinse with lukewarm water. I am so in love with this scrub! My face was so polished and I could immediately tell that the dead skin had been sloughed off.  Wonderful stuff! This product retails for $19.95.

After exfoliating I used the Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Night Cream.  Hello replenishment - where have you been all of my life? This stuff is fabulous!  I have super oily skin and it's so bothersome when night creams, which tends to be heavier, turn my face into a horrific oil slick!  Even though we "oily girls" suffer from over secretion of the sebaceous glands, we still need a good moisturizer. I found this night cream to be light, not heavy and upon waking up, I didn't find that dreadful oil slick lurking on my face! My skin feels soft and hydrated and looks wonderful!  This product retails for $34.95.
