My name is Michelle Reuven and I am the inventor of the Hair Therapy Wrap!
For many years I had very dry hair from doing perms back in the 1980's. I used to have to sit under the hairdryer at the salon or at home for 20 minutes and I hated it. And then, the fact that a hairdryer was used to dry and set the hair didn't make sense to me. So, I rarely did deep conditioning treatments. I am also a very active person so sitting just wasn't in my life style.

In the late 1990's, while still having dry looking hair, I came across the hot and cold gel packs in the sporting goods store. The gel packs, when heated, would stay hot for up to 30 minutes. I thought to myself that this could be used in some sort of bonnet or cap to provide heat when doing a deep conditioning treatment and this would eleminate having to sit under the hairdryer or electric heat cap! And, the rest is history!

For many years now, I have done a weekly deep conditioning on my hair. I do a lot of wear and tear on my hair from heat styling and that requires me to take that extra step to taking extra good care of it. My current method is to use a hooded dryer; the one I use (see above for the exact model) was actually my mom's from...who knows when! If you know when this was made, let me know! I love how well it works but, lugging that baby around takes some strength! Aside from that, I do not have the time to just sit there for 15-20 while I allow the heat to penetrate the conditioner into my thirsty strands. For this reason, I have neglected my hair and it's starting to show the signs of drying out, once again.

While surfing the internet, one day, I came across the Hair Therapy Wrap; I found this to be quite interesting and wanted to learn more about this deep conditioning wrap. The first thing that intrigued me was that this contraption is cordless so I'm thinking, what is it that makes it heat up if there is nothing to plug in? Well, after opening up the package I soon found the answer to my question. Inside are 3 gel packs; two smaller ones for the sides and one large one for the middle. Oh, ok...gel packs! So how do the gel packs work? You insert them into their rightful places and place the hair wrap in the microwave. Please make sure you insert the gel packs into the Hair Therapy Wrap BEFORE you heat it up. Do NOT heat the gel packs without the hair wrap provided! Heat on high for 45 seconds. If it's not hot enough for you, heat an additional 10 seconds AFTER you have let it stand for 30 seconds. You don't want to overheat or the gel packs will bust. Repeat in 10 second intervals until desired hotness is achieved. Do NOT exceed a total of 80 seconds. Whew, sounds complicated but trust me, it's not. I heated it up for the initial 45 seconds and then an additional 10 seconds and was able to achieve the perfect temperature after a total of 55 seconds. In less than one minute, It was ready for use!

The gel packs are super easy to insert. There are 3 individual pockets separated by sewn in dividers for easy insertion. After you have inserted the gel packs, all you have to do is zip it up and in the microwave it goes!

The kit also comes with 3 disposable, plastic hair caps to place over your hair (after applying your deep conditioner) and BEFORE you put on the Hair Therapy Wrap.

After you have washed your hair, towel dry and put a generous amount of deep conditioner, hot oil treatment, protein treatment or any other treatment you currently use.

So, after all of that, here is a short summary:

Insert gel packs into their rightful place and zip up the wrap
Place the Hair Therapy Wrap into the microwave
Heat for 45 seconds, let stand 30 seconds and if necessary, reheat in 10 second intervals NOT to exceed 80 seconds total
Place the provided plastic hair caps over your hair, tucking in any loose hairs
Place Hair Therapy Wrap over the plastic cap

Hair Therapy Wrap is made out of 100% cotton

Go about your business and let it work it's magic (30 minutes max). Pretty simple; nothing difficult about it. I usually let the conditioner penetrate for about 15-20 minutes. It was so nice to be able to continue to take care of my 2 year old, since most of us know how they get into EVERYTHING! Before, I had to constantly get up to tend to baby C; I could never really get my hair hot enough and ended up, at times, having to stay under the dryer that much longer. After removing the cap, my hair and scalp were nice and warm and I knew the job was done successfully. I am 100%, completely sold on this product and it is one of the most convenient beauty items I have ever owned!
